The lexicon is the framework of the language which is a construct of several units, metaphorically as a stone wall. All sorts of elements are needed in linguistic constructs, like bricks and stones that are placed next to each to give a significant overall appearance to the stone wall.
Léxico y semántica: nuevas aportaciones teóricas y aplicadas (Rakel Österberg and Mohamed El-Madkouri Maataoui, Eds.), offers ten chapters that explore the lexicon and its semantic structures from varied perspectives, all profoundly characterized by multidisciplinarity, transversality combined with a holistic research focus.
The themes of the lexicon and semantics have been approached from a focus which begins with etymology and philology, passes through morphology and syntax in relation to the generation of meaning, and touches on computational linguistics and translation studies.
The languages of study are not limited to the more common European varieties, to those related through evolution or via geographical proximity, but we further offer a de-centering through the representation of Swedish, Japanese and Arabic.

Léxico y semántica: nuevas aportaciones teóricas y aplicadas (Editores Rakel Österberg y Mohamed El-Madkouri Maataoui) es un libro de 10 capítulos que exploran el léxico y sus vertebraciones semánticas desde varias perspectivas. De hecho, una de sus características fundamentales de este libro es la pluridisciplinareidad y la transversalidad con una tendencia investigadora holística.
El léxico es el armazón de la lengua. Constituye los ladrillos con los cuales se construyen las oraciones, llamadas en las últimas décadas enunciados, desde los enfoques pragmáticos.
La lengua es un constructo formado por varias unidades como si fuera una pared de piedra. Sin embargo, debe tenerse en cuenta que la heterogeneidad y el carácter multiforme es más propio de los constructos lingüísticos que de las construcciones arquitectónicas. Hasta ahora no se pueden formalizar del todo matemáticamente. En ambos casos se trata de unidades, ladrillos y piedras que se ponen unas junto a otras aplicando unas reglas químicas y físicas. Eso es morfológicas y sintácticas para dar un aspecto general significativo. Tanto en un caso como en otro hay elementos que unen cada pieza a otra y las cementan: las preposiciones, conjunciones y todo tipo de marcadores del discurso entran en esta tipología. Ahora bien, más que en el ámbito de la construcción, las piezas, piedras y ladrillos, pueden ser o de canteras internas o de procedencia extranjera. En esto, menos en el ámbito de la albañilería que en los constructos lingüísticos.
